I got screwed.

When I got into this huge legal battle with my dad, I really felt like the nice guy and had a real case to win here. Boy was I wrong. And I wasted two and half years of my life to figure that out.

Lessons I learned today:

  1. Being the nice guy gets you no where in life.
  2. There is no justice in the court system.
  3. Lots of money really can buy you the best lawyer who will buy you a victory.
  4. Women are easily manipulated and intimidated by men.

I remember talking to my bro about seeing if he wanted to get involved in this legal battle as he is in a similar situation with my dad as I am. Yet he had enough clue to stay away from the train wreck. And he’s the “crazy” one in the family. Yet somehow I should have listened to him better. Major props to my bro for avoiding the train wreck.

Now I have to figure out how to move the fuck on with my life and forget that this all happened.

Abscesses are disgusting.

A week and a half ago, I got an abscess on my side from an ingrown hair. I saw the ingrown hair and thought I had dug it out and cleaned it out real well. I guess I hadn’t and got a fucking quarter sized abscess on my side. It was pretty gross. Spewed nasty blood and puss for a week straight. I’m finally on the mend now. Almost healed up. Not sure if it will leave a scar. Sorry no pics.

I’m debating on whether I should keep going with my business or shut it down and get a full time job. I can no longer afford health insurance. I can’t afford to move out and get my own apartment, noless an office or retail space somewhere. Central Maine might not be the answer for me. I guess I’ll keep toughing it out.

Here’s a pic for your enjoyment:

Mushroomhead ownz….

Filed under: general — Tags: — Joshua @ 10:21 pm

So I saw Mushroomhead, Soil, The Autumn Offering, and Brand New Sin last Friday at Ushuaia’s in Orono. Was a good show. I was allowed to bring in my camera, so I took a bunch of pictures. Here are the best ones out of the lot:

The second picture is my favorite. In fact, one of my favorite pictures I’ve ever taken. I took it with a Canon S500 point and shoot camera. The club was dark with a smoke machine. So I could not use my flash. However, I like how the camera focused in on the face of the lead singer in the foreground. Plus how I got him in the photo. All in all, third time seeing Mushroomhead. Probably my favorite out of those three shows.
In other news, I ordered and had Verizon DSL installed. The dynamic ip business package for $49.95. So far so good. Much less latency than Time Warner and so far more stable. I’m happy with it.
