I forgot to post that I saw Powerman 5000 last week, up at the 103 Ultra Lounge in Orono. Decent show. They played I think 12 to 14 songs. Was pretty sweet. Here’s a photo of Spider in action:

And last night I saw Bury Your Dead, with a few other bands. None of the others really appealed to my tastes. I saw one fight which ended in a football-style pileup on the floor with the security guards hauling the offenders away and out of the club. I also saw the security guards haul away a kid who thought it’d be a smart idea to hang from the stage lights overhead. I guess Bury Your Dead has a new vocalist, a big black dude. He was decent.

One of the guitarists, and the bassist. Google picasa wasn’t having a fun time removing the redeye, so I left it.

Hey give me the mic, bro!

Hey, everyone, come up on stage!
Off to see Mushroomhead tonight. Later.
I finally made the decision that I’m going to cut my losses right now and not keep pushing this whole legal ordeal any further. My dad has more money than me and enjoys sticking it to me. Enjoy isn’t even the right word. More like getting a sadistic pleasure out of sticking it to me. If I had more money, I’d let my lawyer loose and have him do whatever to get everything accomplished, but that would take additional years that I just don’t have and it isn’t worth it at this point. I made my stand, got some information out of him, and got his word that he’d send updated information at the beginning of each year. I just have to walk away from this the better man and cut away any last remnants of his stench and filth off of me and move on. Simple as that.
So on Friday the 13th, I went down to Portland to see Tool. At first, with the cost of the tickets and actual seats and not general admission, I figured this could suck ass. But I was pleasantly surprised. They put on an awesome show. Played a lot of music from 10,000 days and Lateralus. I don’t think anything was played off Opiate and none of Undertow. Tool has always been known for a good concert in all aspects: sounds and visuals. No let down here. The lasers they had were for the light show were so fucking great. I totally want those lasers. The beams were so powerful too. Must have casted a 6″ diameter laser beam, with smoke to make the lasers stand out.
Here are a couple of pics my friend took with his camera phone, as they didn’t “allow” cameras at the event. I should have tried to have brought my camera anyway.
