Actually, I bought three Canon Powershot S500 cameras. One for me, the other two for sale on genmay, hardforums, and anandtech. It is a sweet camera. Can’t wait to dig into it a bit more than the couple hours I’ve owned it so far.
Yesterday I had a cavity filled.
My first cavity I’ve ever had. I got the composite resin filling. Looks a bit better. I hope it lasts longer than the amalgam fillings. I didn’t enjoy the procedure at all. So damn nervous. I’m not a big fan of any medical procedures. But, what is done is done. $115 lesson learned: brush and floss teeth more regularly. I also need to go to the dentist more often. Probably would have caught the cavity earlier.
My business has been picking up lately. Sold some hardware and software to customers. I don’t mark it up much. Should I?
Lan party is 4 days away! Can’t wait. Now that I have a digital camera, pics will be coming.

200GB? Yes, please!
Today, I received the 200gb Seagate sata hdd I ordered from newegg on tuesday. I installed it. Very slick setup with the cables. I like it. Right now I am copying over my data from from my old two 60gb maxtor ide hdds to the new 200gb. I had to do one minor registry hack to get Windows 2000 SP4 to see all 200gb of the seagate. The seagate is so quiet too. I can’t even hear it while it is copying data right now. I am probably going to install Windows XP on it tonight. I want to see if there will be a difference in game performance running Windows XP Pro vs. Windows 2000 Pro. I bet there will be. I think XP can be trusted to not shit the bed (aside from spyware and viruses, which I am not concerned with). I just love Windows 2000 Pro since it is so stable. I can go four weeks without having to reboot. We shall see.
Today I went down to SamsClub and got four new B.F. Goodrich All-terrain tires installed. Very nice tires. I can’t wait to see how they will perform in the winter with snow on the roads. My old Goodyears were getting very low on tread. A few of my friends have or have had these B.F.G. tires and they all like them. I found them to handle well in curves and reduce some of the bumps and vibrations in the road. However, I found them to be a bit loud. Hopefully that goes away after they get some wear on them. I had the techs put the whitewall in. They look so nice on my truck. If I remember, I’ll try to take some pics of it with my crappy digicam.
On Monday, I received the title to my truck (2001 Chevy Blazer) from my dad. I went down to the town office and registered the vehicle. $275 excise tax
 but what can you do. Then I had to drive down to Augusta to get the vanity plate I wanted. Guess what it will be? NAILBAT
three to five weeks and I’ll have the official plates. Right now I got the crappy cardboard temp plate. I plan on getting some magnetic signs made up with my company information on it. Free advertisement. Might as well.

made a few purchases
I received the 512mb dual channel kit of PC4000 Kingston HyperX memory yesterday. I put it in and it runs beautifly. FarCry really makes use of the memory. My score in Aquamark didn’t improve though. I have to get a new video card for that to get better. I guess that will be my next purchase after I pay bills.
I decided not to buy a dvd burner and digital camera. Perhaps around christmas time I will order those, depending on cash. I did order the seagate 200gb sata hdd for myself and a Linksys WRT54G wireless router for a client of mine. I also ordered Microsoft Office XP Stnd Edition as well. The client just got a new dell laptop and needs office to work with documents. This client is turning out to be real good for me. He keeps having questions and items that need to be fixed or ordered.

A lot of money, but I had assumed it would be in that price range and budgeted myself accordingly. I decided to get a vanity plate, so I had to drive to Augusta to the Bureau of Motor Vehicles after getting my truck registered at the town office. $63 for the vanity plate and registration fees. The plate will be NAILBAT.
Figured that would look good on my truck. I think I will get some magnetic signs for my truck with my business name and such. Free advertising basically.
I’m so happy that finally got done. It is a big step in the right direction and I’m glad my dad finally got a clue.
In other news, my teeth are killing me. I think my four wisdom teeth decided together to come out all at once. OUCH!!!
I rescheduled my dentist appt sooner to get them taken care of. I also have to get a cavity filled. And I’m not the only person with dental problems. I had to take my cat to the vet today. Turns out most of her teeth are rotten and have to be removed. So that was another reason I decided to cut down my computer budget to bare essentials. RAM, HDD, and Dell GB switch. I just couldn’t pass up that deal on the 16port Dell gigabit switch for $84 after rebate. Dell does good with sending out rebates, so I shouldn’t have to worry. That switch will be awesome for the lan parties. ![]()
A few other things I ordered was more PC133 memory for three computers at the Oakland Library, a couple gigabit D-link network cards, and new batteries for an APC SU1000NET UPS I have that a friend gave me. I ordered that friend batteries for his UPS as well.
